Disbursement Schedule
Scholarship balances are reserved for your use for up to 6 years after you graduate from Raymond High School. All funds must be used within 6 years, or they will be forfeited. Scholarship availability follows an academic year calendar, meaning each year of eligibility begins in August and ends the following July.
Every academic year, you are eligible for up to $1,500 in disbursements from your scholarship balance. If your balance is less than $1,500, the remainder of your balance will be disbursed.
You may request that your scholarship be deferred. If you choose to defer your award, the 6-year eligibility period may be extended up to 2 additional academic years. If you defer your scholarship, you will be entitled to disbursals of up to $3,000 per academic year if necessary to facilitate the disbursal of the full amount within the eligibility period.
Eligibility
All graduating Raymond High School seniors continuing their education at an accredited university, college, technical college, or trade school are eligible to apply for a scholarship.
Part-time and full-time running start students who are dual-registered as RHS seniors are also eligible to apply.
To receive scholarship disbursals, you must meet the following continuing eligibility requirements:
- You must be enrolled at an accredited post-secondary school
- Deferrals, gap years, and transfers do not impact your continued eligibility
- You must maintain a cumulative post-secondary GPA of at least 2.50
- If you do not maintain a 2.50 GPA, you may regain eligibility by raising your GPA back up to 2.50, but you will not be eligible to extend the 6-year eligibility period
- Deferrals may not be requested if your GPA is below 2.50
- You must contact the LV Raymond Foundation each year to request a disbursal from your award.
Disbursement Process
In order to receive disbursals from your balance, you must take the following actions each academic year:
Communicate to the Foundation via email at info@lvraymond.org the following:
- Your name
- The school you are enrolled at for the upcoming/current academic year
- Your student ID
- The school address and department where scholarship checks should be mailed
- A current college transcript (not applicable to your freshman year)
College transcripts must be official, not scans or copies. Many schools use Parchment’s electronic transcript service, which can send official electronic transcripts via email. Transcripts emailed from this type of service must be emailed directly to info@lvraymond.org and not forwarded through your personal email address.
Communication
All communication must come from the you, the recipient. Requests for funds from schools on your behalf will not be honored.
You are responsible for requesting funds each academic year. If a disbursement is not requested, funds will not be disbursed. A lack of communication does not constitute a deferral.
The details of scholarship balances will not be shared with anyone but the recipient. Inquiries from schools and relatives will not be honored.
Inquiries about scholarships and about the disbursal process are encouraged. This is complicated and we are happy to help navigate the process with you and answer any questions you have.
